It was only a few weeks ago that we woke up in the morning, went to work, kissed our children good-bye on their way to school or daycare, socialized with friends and family, walked in the park, went to the gym, ate out in restaurants, had our hair colored and blow-dried, enjoyed our occasional manicure and pedicure, went to the grocery store, attended musical shows and movies.
All without any concern about a looming crisis that would affect our lives and the lives of others in inconceivable ways that we never dreamed of.
As we all too painfully know, and how quickly and dramatically life has changed. Today people are concerned not only about contracting the coronavirus, but worrying about paying their rent, losing their jobs and homes. All these problems has been all encompassing with worry, fear, and anxiety at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and feelings, and also wondering if life will ever get back to normal again.
While we don’t have any control over the virus, we do have control over our attitude and response. Finding our inner resources that we didn’t even know existed, and connecting to our deepest core values increases our optimism, will have a positive effect on our well-being.
I can give you some tips and advice on how to find meaning and strength, through the day in and day out stress we all are feeling in these unprecedented times.
