Keep Your Data Clean and Organized - Session 2 of 6
You may have heard the saying, Garbage In, Garbage Out. One of the biggest hinderances to using data to drive decision-making is have a data environment full of dirty and unstructured data. Understanding how data flows into your business, where it is stored, how it is accessed and where the product of your analysis ends up is very important. In this session we will discuss how to map your data flow, identify and fix areas where it bogs down, and master tools for cleaning data and blending data.
Included with this session: a 10-page PowerPoint on Good Data Governance, a case study illustrating how Dan helped two business analysts at Coffee Bean figure out why some stores had low coffee sales and an exercise on Mapping Your Data Lake.
This is a series of weekly coaching sessions for 30-60 minutes that will empower you to get more value out of your business data. Each session will focus on a different aspect of the analytics process; (1) finding the right data, (2) cleaning and storing data, (3) transforming data into insight, (4) building data models, (5) discovering patterns in data, and (6) making data-driven decisions. When using this platform, each session needs to be enrolled as a separate coaching session.
